イギリスのソウルジャズ・レコードが8月の5日から19日までの毎週水曜に音楽映画の上映会を開催……ってロンドンですが。

Soul Jazz Records curates this season of music-related films – from Motown and Civil Rights Jazz to Reggae, Brazilian Bossa Nova, Jean-Luc Godard’s groundbreaking Rolling Stones documentary and more. All of these films rely heavily on the relationship between music, film, politics and society.
Stuart Baker will be in attendance to introduce each of the films and Soul Jazz Records’ Soundsystem DJ’s will also be playing sets in the bar before and after each screening.
「モータウンと公民権運動、ジャズ、レゲエ、ボサノヴァからゴダール監督によるローリング・ストーンズのドキュメンタリーまで、当時の政治や社会問題とも関わりの深い音楽映画をソウルジャズ・レコードのキュレーションでセレクトして上映」
とのこと。御大スチュワート・ベイカー氏も出席して各映画のこと軽くお話しされるみたいですね。前後にはバー・スペースで「ソウルジャズ・レコード・サウンドシステム」によるDJセットも。
会場のリージェント・ストリート・シネマは「英国最古の映画館」だそうです。いいですね。行ってみたいです。

8月12日 『Nothing But A Man』／『ブラックパワー・ミックステープ ～アメリカの光と影～』
8月19日 『Shadows』／『ワン・プラス・ワン（Sympathy for the Devil）』
